Hey guys. So I currently have a 2015 Pro rmk 163 with the stock 2.4 track. And I will be upgrading to a axys this year. But I can not decide if I should go with the 163 or 155. I find my current 163 to climb well but it is a work out to get it to wheelie or play around with it all. My last 155 was a wheelie machine but it liked to trench out. So I am wondering if the new 163 with the 3 inch is more playful? Or is the 2.6 any good ? I rode a axys 155 3 inch last year for a bit and it was a awesome sled to ride. So I'm debating which length. Anybody have opinions?

I also found a 2016 163 with 2.6 track for a good deal. Is the new 2.6 better then the 2.4? That 3 inch walked all over my old 2.4

I prefer the 2.6 to the 2.4. Seems to work really well. It all comes down to how you ride. If you want wheelie machine forget the 163 3” it will pull and pull in a straight line. 155 3” will give you something in between.

I have a 162x3 axys.
Stock suspension it’s hard to keep the nose down.

Super playful in real snow.

I would consider your weight and riding style first. If you're a bit heavier for rider weight then I would lean towards a 163/2.6. If you like to climb and pull side hills and don't want to be on the gas and keeping speed up then again the 163/2.6.

If you're into quick reaction, keeping a little more speed through the trees, then go with the 155/2.6 or 3.

I currently run a 163/2.6 and for "most" snow conditions, it works well for my riding style and rider weight.

Plus..............I have never wished I had less track to work with???

Thanks for the replies. I weigh 170 so a smaller rider but have never had the issue of handling a 163. I just found my old pro with the 2.4 did not hook up well after riding the 3 inch 155

I have a 163 and 155 2.6" I had a 3". I prefer the 2.6" track as I like belt drive, but not much difference. The 2.6 is much. Better than 2.4.

I like the 163 for the steep and deep. I can go slower and more controlled. The 155 is more fun. I think the difference between the 2 is a little bit more in the axys Chasis vs pro.

155x3" Axys makes for a fun sled if you like to wheelie a bit....rode one quite a bit last year. I'm typically a 163" kinda guy, but I really enjoyed that sled. Made me question always riding a 163. I find the 155x2.6" a bit too squirrely with me being just over 200lbs....when you are on the gas in technical terrain and need to make a line, that track combo gets thrown around the most, and is the easiest to over-correct on. The 155x3" is easier to manage in the deep IMO.

163x2.6 vs 163x3 ....the 3" wants to go straight a little more, slightly less snappy throttle response. 2.6" slightly snappier and "feels" just a hair lighter. Smaller differences tho...we are talking like 10%. I would happily ride either....flip a coin.

Either the 2.6" or 3" on the new sleds is an improvement over the 2.4" ....2.4" was a good powder track, and easy to sidehill because it spun a lot, but the new ones are just better overall.

Thanks for the response sure seems like it is very minor between the 2.6 and the 3 inch tracks. Going to look at a 2016 163 2.6 tomorrow
