Mountain Performance Inc. has released a 200-hp turbo system for the 2017 Ski-Doo 850 E-Tec. The kit comes assembled as shown in the photos, and the mountain version (standard version shown) will have a small exhaust muffler. The crew at MPI claim there will be no extra weight added to the sled versus what is removed, for a zero-pound net weight gain. Watch www.snowest.com for more details.

Im adding that to my sled deal if its a dealer installed item from the catalog

Clean looking kit!

I may have missed something...

Is this MPI system an "BRP Endorsed" or "Factory supported" turbo kit? (or even implied at this point)
The Aerocharger turbos have been displayed in the Factory BRP Booths in the past, but they were not "factory endorsed"... hence the question.

What is the MSRP $$?

When will they be able to deliver these systems in volume to customers?

Have they already been on the snow with this configuration?

What are the system details?
  • Turbo used?
  • Oiling?
  • Boost levels?
  • Fuel controller?
  • ECU mods?
  • Options?

Being as only mpi was allowed to get their hands on a sled early I can't help but think this will b a factory thing or option. Just like they did w yamahas, aero charger blew it when the photos got leaked last year.

From a few guys at hay days sounds like no factory warranty.. If that's the case no mpi for me I'll wait... Put other stuff first Zbroz exit shocks and springs, tki belt drive and some lower bars, speed shop Inc clutching maybe TI can, bm fab boards then she's ready for boost after we see how they hold up for the season maybe. I'm not gunna spend money on mpi turbo till I know it will hold up if doo won't warranty it as factory set up.

Aero had an 850 turbo running last spring.

While I like the simplicity and price of the mpi kit, I think I will stick with aero because of the adjustability. If the mpi came with a warranty I'd probably switch though.

so honestly, who would want a 4stroke turbo now?:face-icon-small-coo..

Honestly.
Right now I can't tell you.
BUT.
I am going to install this bad boy on one of my 850s and do a full write up.

I have had the pleasure of running an MPI Supercharger and Turbo on two of my Yamahas and LOVED them!

Give me a few months and some snow and I WILL report back on my thoughts of Boosted 4 stroke vs. Boosted 2 Stroke.

Its a funny thing.
MPI hooked up TIGHTLY with Yamaha on turbos for several years.
And when everyone said Yamaha would NEVER offer a factory turbo, suddenly they did. And now we have the Sidewinder.

Now MPI is hooking up with Ski-Doo. (who would have thunk it)
And dang it, everyone is telling me there will NEVER BE A FACTORY 2-Stroke Turbo.

Hmmm

Wonder what we will see in a few years.....:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap

If any one does offer it, it will be skidoo.

Apparently you need to wear jeans while riding it.

Probably the most hillbilly brochure I've ever seen.
