Who has the best mountain clutching for a 872 ? My buddy has a Trygstad 872 and he is having a hard time getting it clutched correctly. Its a 15 xm 174. We ride West Coast area at around 6500 ft. Any help ,comparisons in clutch kits would be appreciated.

Whatever primary clutch spring is in the clutch - take the final force and raise it by 30 lbs.

Example: 160/320 and drifting engine speed down to 7600 then go to a xxx/350 or go to a xxx/380 final force.

That should allow the engine to not lose speed that much and fluctuate 100+/- rpms.

HRSS stuff works phenomenal if you tell them exactly the application ( track length, lug height, snow and elevation for setup) .. I believe mtncat has 8-10 sleds on a stocker..call the shop if something's not working as it should...

we have 2 872 s in our barn . both 15 t3 s a 163 and 174 , 163 is a higher compression setup than the 174. we used joey"s setup on both .the 174 was a piece of cake ,dropped the kit in and it was bang on from day one . the 163 not so much ,but with a few phone calls to joe and a different set of ramps and spring it runs like a champ . might want to build a tiny bit of over rev into your weight setup . 8100 right off the line will give you 8000 on a pull . funny thing the 174 works better at a lower clicker setting [shallower ramp angle ] than the 163.the 174 is a beast still pulls a bunch more track speed and ground speed than the 163 . this is climbing or in the deep. would not hesitate to use dj again , but if you start talking clutch theory be prepared to have your head messed up for a bit . lmoa :)

Just checked out the HRSS ramp profile pics. They look good. Can't see how those cant be made to work extremely well with a big bore. I know DJ's stuff works, but to say HRSS doesn't as a general statement isn't right. Run both 880 and 872 and do not run any "kits" but have messed around enough to get an idea of what I want a ramp to do. Might have to get some of the HRSS2 to put in 880.
