I am working on a friends 1999 RMK 550. It has a definite ignition miss and does not want to rev. I have cleaned the carburators, tested compression, and checked electrical connections. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try cutting a quarter inch off the spark plug wires on both ends and re-attach them. They just unscrew on both ends. Or it could be a bad spark plug boot. I had one once where the part that clips over the plug end inside the boot was partially gone. It still made contact a bit but not good enough.

I had the same problem with my Polaris storm. first I would check the procedure on how to check the connection on your cdi. and then check that.
