So I scored on a complete alpha skid including the aluminum drive shaft and curious if anyone knows if my early build steel shaft bearings are the same? Just trying to source out the right stuff and get this on the snow before it’s gone.

On pre-ascender chassis sleds you need a whole new brake caliper, rotor, and the disk retaining nuts to swap in the Cat aluminum driveshaft. I can't imagine cat made a steel shaft for one model that was different than all the others so I'd bet your EB will be in the same boat. Check part numbers for the brake caliper on your sled with a 2018 Mountain Cat or any 2019. If they are different you'll know.

Thanks I’ll look into it, I know the early release and early build cats had steel shafts

Yep you were right, looks like I’ll be ordering the disc, caliper assembly, alum bushing and retaining nuts. Is anything needed for the chaincase side?

Bearings are the same.
I am thinking you would be able to press off the Alpha drivers and use them on your '18 shaft.

That’s what I was thinking as well, would like the less rotating mass tho, believe it is around 3lb lighter then the steel
