Bmfab said the first person to bring them one they will build narrow boards for it for free.

My 2014 was pretty great stock, upgraded shocks and pipe/can with an insurance deal basically free. Maybe ill wait for a wreck to do any mods :face-icon-small-win

I took 3" off both sides of my XM.
Not a single complaint from anyone that rode it, but they couldn't figure out how in the heck just boards made e that sled so good.

Pull the stickers (my buddy got the exact same sled as me) and hope the big wheel kit off my 13 will fit. Iceage X brace.

I find it strange that ski-doos trail sled and mountain sled have the same width on the running boards.
So, first mods:
NARROW running boards
Lower riser
Then:
Fox shocks
Tmotion delete
Then ride the hell out of it!
Gonna mod the gas tank with some gas, then mod the throttle WTFO

It's $$$. Same bulkhead, vendor, engineering, etc., = lower production cost. The average summit buyer couldn't care less...

and unlike some other sleds,the brake and chaincase are there where you stand too
So as of TODAY, are there ANY vendors that have a set of boards ready to rock and roll for the Gen4 ?

Right, but most guys don't have to make room for gramma on the back of the seat either
Doesn't seem like one could make the running boards much narrower on both sides, as the chaincase thingy at your right foot area wouldn't leave much room to stand. Add a little snow buildup on the boards and it will be a bugger to stay on. Even the way it is with the wide boards, I think the chaincase in that area would be very annoying . . .
