So, I was working on a buddies 2000 700 PS. We drove it into the shop, popped the hood and proceeded to pull the clutch. The sled only had 1000 miles on it and this was the first time the clutch had ever been pulled so it was quite tight!

It popped and all was good. We had a second clutch we were going to run so we installed it as a temporary fix and when we went to start the sled up, it was dead!

I went through everthing, about 4 hrs work of poking and checking. I finally got to the stator and pulled it. It had a dead coil.

Anybody? Has this happened before? Did we just win the lottery and it broke when we pulled it in the shop?

wire was broken in the windings for a while but still touching and the pop on the crank of the clutch releasing just enough vibration for a total disconnect...possibly...
