07 m1000 vs 2010 m8 and other questions

A
I have a stock (other than can) 07 m1000. Love the sled, but I have been thinking about a 2010 m8. It would probably be stock other than a can aswell. I ride mostly 9000-11000 feet through the trees on hills, but i like all types of riding. if you've come off an 1000 did you like the 800. (remember both are virtually stock and will stay that way)
what is a good price for new 2010 m8? I have found a few for 10,000.
I also have a 08 m6 with 350 miles, my 1000 has 900 miles. What could I expect on a trade for either, and is it reasonalbe to think I can trade them both on 1 new sled?
Thanks for the thoughts.

I have a 2008 M1000 and a 2010 M8. I love both sleds, but they feel very different. The M8 feels light and nimble and has great power once you get it on the pipe, but it lacks that low end torque that is so addicting on the M1000. I find that it is easier to hold a line climbing a trenched-up hill on the M1000 than on the M8. In most situations the M8 will climb as well as the M1000, but when the hill is long and steep and you absolutly, positively, have to get the high mark, the M1000 is tough to beat.

The M8 takes less energy to ride during the course of the day, especially if the powder is deep and you need to side hill a lot. It took me a while to get used to riding the M8 because I kept tipping it over when pulling it up on one ski. At first the M8 felt a lot less stable than the M1000, but I got used to it.

Even though I love both sleds, I spend more time on the M8 because of the fun factor. I find I rode the M1000 most of the time when we were riding areas with big hills, and the M8 the rest of the time.

My dealer had leftover 2010 M8 (standard model) 153" for $8,995 including feight and set-up, and the 162" for $9,295. He had 14 of them, but sold the last one last week.

The 09 and newer m1000 are a close comparison to the 2010 m8 the 07 m1000 is not, I guaranty the 2010 m8 will make the 07 m1000 look like a non turbo Apex. Unless you ride setup snow. If you want to stay stock get the 2010 or 2011 m8, If you like mods get a 09 or newer M1000.
