I do a lot of filming and riding with Geoff of Geoff Kyle's Freeride in Pemberton, BC. If you are not familiar with him, he has been riding sleds for a very long time and got into guiding snowbikes about four years ago. He was one of the prominent riders of Slednecks for many years before that. He is based out of Pemberton, BC near Whistler Canada. Probably some of the best riding in North America.
GKFREERIDE.COM

This year he pulled all the stops with six brand new Beta RRS bikes and new Yeti 129 Freeride kits. I'll give the rundown on our builds as it progresses. We will be using the best of what ever we can get... C3 Powersports, Revv-Up, FMF Racing, Cyclops, Etc...

Heres a sneak video from ride 2

I went up to help Geoff and Andrew uncrate and set up three of the bikes for some break in rides... Two 430RRS and four 500RRS bikes... man do they look good... A little breakdown on the Betas-

Street legal from the factory for the S models. 430RRS dyno'd stock at 57HP. 500RRS dyno'd at 62HP stock. No emissions crap like the other euro bikes. Trailtech Voyager GPS speedo, which still works as a speedo running off GPS mode for snowbike use. Has maps, altitude, temps, tach, etc... really handy for what we are doing. Bikes have 6spd transmissions, 2.0g clear tanks, hydraulic clutch, ZF forks, etc.. Made in Italy. Everything is well thought out, like push button seat release and neatly wired dash instruments. The bikes were purchased through Pemberton Valley Chainsaw in downtown Pemberton, the local Beta dealer just a minute from Geoff's. Geoff is a Yeti Dealer "Mtn Moto" and has a good relationship with Camso.

For the initial setup, we basically just mounted the Yeti kits and pulled the complete airbox assemblies off each bike (takes about 15 minutes to pull the whole airbox and replace with a pod.) Will be finishing the bikes off with lots of goodies soon.

Initial impressions - wow... best out of the box setup I have rode to date. Super nimble, great top to bottom power, just amazing.
We are waiting for all the C3 and other parts to come in to get the fully equipped. Should be soon!

Beta

I appreciate the post. Beta was in contention with 500 exc for my current setup. Looking forward to updates through season. Where did hp numbers come from? I was never able to find any dyno reports on the beta. I assume the exc develops a little more torque as it is a longer stroke engine but those hp numbers are good.

I have seen a dyno, and had a hard time believing it, but the 478cc Beta motor was shown to peak at 64-HP and the power-line was above the 500 EXC motor throughout the rev-range. Beta motors are known for being as linear as can be.

It has to help that for the time being, they have some relaxed emissions rules that they need to follow, if any at all so they can tune the FI for what the engine needs, not what some regulating agency wants.

For a guy who is on his second season on a 17 Beta 500 RR-S, with no mods other than a Rekluse Radius CX, to see a FLEET of 430 and 500 RR-S' is awesome, as are your pictures, they are always incredible, best on the net.

I will always be looking for new posts regarding the s-bikes.

very nice pics, thats a hell of a fleet. wish I had 150k to spend on snowbikes!!

not sure about the 4 strokes, but I was going to get a Beta 300RR 2 stroke this summer.

I got onto the Beta facebook group where I asked those guys whats better. the beta 300 or the Husky 300? guess what a dozen of the Beta guys said/admitted? most of them said the Husky 300 is better!!! not sure if thats the same on the 4 stroke side, or if their beta complaints regarding tight single track woods riding transfer over to the snowbike world. but some food for thought... theyre both badass bikes thats for sure. im jealous.

Fleet guys

Always interesting talking to the fleet owners in the spring about how their units held up. Its amazing how tough rental customers are on snow bikes.
Mostly ignorance but you quickly find the weak areas in any kit you have out there.
