For those of you who are thinking of running the Power Claw track on your PRO-RMK

Norway and others,

Note that the actual speed sensor is the same for all PRO's and IQ's (exact same part number, same plug, same pigtail length) so whatever you have on hand should be the right one electrically. You will need to verify the splined inducer is the same also but my guess is that has not changed either.

I also found this after I posted the Q. Seems like it will work, no LOGICAL reason why poo should change the count for the pickup (pro shaft has nine splines). I will shop around.

On the wahl drivers, like I mentioned the shaft is here with drivers on and will be run. I did measure from tooth to tooth and in deed it did come up a tad short of 3". I have a theory that wahl know a thing or two making these drivers for many years now, and the dynamic situation of a track and drivers in motion could make for a slightly different "real world".

Yes, I read the whole thread and knew the issue in question. But Curt at Ftx did not agree in the end about Wahl- vs. Avid drivers. Having said that I am not even going near the difference of opinion between Ftx and Avid (and I fully expect everyone else to NOT call/write either to ask "don't you see the other guys point?".

Curt and Robbie have been at this for a while and i respect both a lot. This time I bought a good chunk of stuff from Ftx and I'm a repeat customer of theirs. Taking his word and showing some faith! We'll se how that track looks come summer.

The 2005 shafts had a "bolt on" speed sensor (as do all the IQ driveshafts) . The newer ones are integral to the shaft. (as you know)

Simple to add and then your speedo will work ( I assume you have a 2011/12 PRO, an assault or Std RMK???)

The speedo trigger wheel is part #20 (PN 5136619 ) in this pic. bolt is #30 (PN 7516733)
If you have access to used parts... easy to remove from a junk sled... and cheap from the dealer. (about $20 US for both)

Alright, quick update: If you go my route and get a 2006 driveshaft, be aware that the bearing flange with bolts (triangle shaped bearing support, #29 in MH picture) from the 900 RMK is NOT METRIC LIKE THE PRO RMK PART.

TO SUMMARIZE:

The 2" unusable left spline is on:
'05 Fusion All
'06,'07, '08, '09, '10 Four Stroke ALL

All other IQ chassis, will need the special left side external driver wheel that has some of the internal splining removed, so it can go over the part of the drum on the drive axle that does not have splining.
