I cut the bottom of the air box off and I run the pre filter only and It works great.
The snow drops right out of the bottom of the air box and never plugs.

Not having enough carb heat is usually the real issue.

I fought and fought with my Kx. Always had a fine dust getting thru. Got some serious carb heat, issue gone

Two of us have 300's, both have billet Smartcarbs with ktm heater, carb jackets and just a pre-filter, snow gets in air box but no issues as long as carb is kept warm.

So far testing is going good. Should fit on most KTMs. I wrapped the pre-filter around the cage, and stapled it like a seat cover to the cage. Installs just like stock air filter.

Here shows the final install of the pre-filter over the cage. Before install I stapled the pre-filter to the cage like a seat cover. This allows the filter to be installed and removed just like the stock air filter. Nothing for sale right now. Parts in test. So far it sounds like things are working well. Might need more help testing?
