700 xc bottom with 800 xc top?

just wondering if its possible to use an 800 xc top end with a 700 xc bottom end? and if so how you would go about doing it? is it possible to use the 700 crank?

It is possible to do this, but will require mods to the cylinders and case. Then, you need to find pistons to fit the 800 cyliner bores because the 800s have a larger wrist pin and won't fit the 700 crank. Back in the day, SLP had pistons that could be used, but I don't know if they are available any longer. It was what they used in their 727 small block big bore kit. Those pistons had a relatively flat dome, so a custom cut head would be necessary too.

Different stroke also, port timing will be off.
There was a pin bearing available to accommodate the 700 piston on the 800 rod. But that’s the opposite of what you are trying to accomplish.
