Redhead took a couple of pics on her phone, really doesn't show much. It was sticking on the trees some, cool seeing it snow in September.

Sand lake this am. True 24". Roads were toast though by noon from hunters. Very light and fluffy snow. Only took pow turns in this one meadow cause I know its rock free. Nothing like the feeling of dropping shoulders the first week of October!!!

That looks like a blast! In Bismarck, ND, nearly all of our snow has melted. Can't imagine powder turns in October...

Drove over the range last night to go to the hot springs and it was a dang blizzard up there. About midnight there was at least 5" on the highway up top. Good thing we went that way, found an old guy that had ran off the road and into a tree so we gave him a lift to Saratoga. Looks like a couple snotels are showing over a foot accumulated with French creek showing 16"! With more snow in the forecast it looks to be a good start!

Edit: Just got this off of WYDOT facebook page. I guess the road was kind of bad last night.

WYO 130 over Snowy Range Pass west of Laramie is closed for the weekend.

Blowing and drifting snow Friday made it difficult for WYDOT plows to keep the 13-mile highway section open, and maintenance foremen decided it would not be safe for travelers to attempt to cross the high mountain pass in the dark.

The highway section will remain closed in both directions Oct. 12-13, and a decision will be made Monday whether to reopen the highway.

The highway is closed annually for the winter when relatively low traffic, combined with deep snow accumulations, render plowing operations impractical. During most years the closure begins after hunting season ends in late November.

130 is temporarily closed. Just drove over and Wydot was throwing cones out across the road.

Super low visibility - wind/snowing

Total accumulation is hard to guess due to drifting.

It's setting up nicely above 10K ft! 10/19/13 2ft with some base.

Still tip toe'd around on many spots, but there were a few honey holes I know are safe. Had a BLAST.

Stickers on now available for sale. $25 + $2 for search and rescue. Red color this year.
