What is the boost limit with stock 2010-2011 m8 ho head at what alt?

I have run 8 psi @ 800 ft wondering if I dare try 10?

What do you guys dare run at 8000+ ft?

This is with push tial kit.

Last year I ran 100LL at 800 ft and 8 psi. Then out west 8 psi at 8000+ ft running 50/50 100LL and premium.
Looking to maybe turn up the boost a little this year just trying to decide if I should run 2010 head or switch to 09 head.

Hmmmmm that seems odd to me....is your knock sensor loose? I started getting octane code back when it was stock found loose knock sensor.

First ride on my sled this year. Running about 50/50 race gas/pump gas at cooke on stock head at 10psi. Ran GREAT, going to West Yellowstone this Wednesday going to put in a boondocker timing module I will let you know how it works.

K so most of you must be running the 08-09 the head. Did anyone start with the 2010 and then go to 08-09 and like it better ? Or vise versa?

i ride 8k and up, i started with the 07-09 head on my '10 m8, then went to the HO and left it on, i prefer this head i run less boost but get more power and better response. i run between 8 and 10psi, 10 being my max, but i think it runs better than the old setup on 11 or 12. i run sunoco 112 usually but on the last trip ran av gas and had no issues.

.

Dogmeat thats what I was trying to find out. I just got back from trip out west and I dont think I am going to mess with the 2009 head. I turned it up to 11 and its just about out of control in the trees. The boost hits and this thing spools so fast giving it throttle feels almost like flipping a light switch its either ON or OFF! I dont think I need any more power. I am thinking the 2010 HO head is the way to go if you are a boondocker.......maybe chute climbers would be better off with the lower compression IDK?

I started with my 09 head and switched to the 2010 HO head this season and loved it! I'll never go back. Definitely love it for boondocking.

Do you have an air/air intercooler by chance?

I'm almost thinking that no matter what I do that thing is still screwing me for a boondocking sled on pump gas.

No I dont have a intercooler on this but I have the extra injectors in the charge tube.

Last year I put this Push Tial PG kit on but my boost tube would get real warm then performace would go down. This year I added the extra injectors in the boost tube like push does and I bet my charge temps are 50 deg. cooler the tube doesnt even hardly get warm anymore.

Last year after a pull of two it felt like it lost 50 hp now I cant really tell the differece after a pull of two she just keeps the skis in the air.:face-icon-small-hap
