Ordered what was supposed to be 02 800 rmk crank (rebuilt) and used crankcase, received parts looked great assembled case and crank and walla cylinders wont fit ! I beleive I was sold a 700 rmk case.Wondering if crank for 700 rmk and 800 rmk are the same? So at least I might just need good case. Thanks for your help

Yes it sounds like you may have gotten a 700 case, no the cranks are not the same. Quick check, do your wrist pins and bearings fit? Different sizes on rod pins and wrist pins between 7s and 8s.

The 800 has longer rods. I was told a 700 case would not work with an 800 crank and top end unless the case was machined for the 800 crank and top end.

700/800 cranks and cases

Crank twister, just for clarification for you. To me it sounds as if you got a 800 crank in a set of 700 cases? Wrist pins and bearings are larger diameter on the 800 in comparison to the 700. Rod pins are larger in diameter on the 700 in comparison to the 800, however the 700 are not a solid pin in original configuration from the manufacturer, where as the 800 is a solid pin. If you are sending this back to the company that you got this from, you might consider having them install a SKF 3207 A/C3 double row bearing as the outside bearing on the PTO end and have the proper 800 cases drilled for additional oiling to this bearing. Between the the Koyo 6207 and SKF 3207 bearing a spacer approximately 1/8" will be needed just as it is over on the Mag side. Hope this helps......

Thank you guys for the info! I can always rely on the forum for good info. What I found out from the shop I bought them from that the crank is definitely an 800 crank, but the cases and crank were sent off to be rebuilt ,,crank was rebuilt to 800 specs ,case was to be checked for true tolerance.was never checked to be an 800 case. The two halves were never mated with crank until I got them. The case has a year 2000 serial # non possibly non ves? (dont know) Looking at my original cases they look good,no ridges or signs of bearing spinning in case, going to use my original case and crank, and send 700 or ? case back. Whats strange is that the crank sat perfectly in the 700 or ? case.Just down for another week ...........Sucks........ Time for a new sled next year for sure!!!!!! I will keep posted in 1 week,
