I just bought my first turbo sled and know very little about it. I plan on running strait Turbo Blue 110 at 7-8lbs and bump it up when I need to but it's possible I would have to add some pump fuel toward the end of the day to get back home and having the TRF would be a good thing for that, but what has me confused is will it also retard the timing when I'm on strait race gas and hurt performance??

I'm at 400' to 1500' elevation

If it is plugged in, it will always be progressively retarding the timing at the higher rpms. It can not tell what you are running for fuel.

If you have enough octane that you wouldn't need it then I would un plug it, only time you should need it is to run higher boost on lower octane.

Straight 110 at 7-8lbs on a tm1000 seems like massive over kill, at low elevation I would think 50/50 would be plenty, some can run 7-8lbs at 10000ft on pump if tuned right. Remember the m1000 is built to run on 87, and you can pipe one up to 200hp on 91, so to get that with a turbo I would think 3-4lbs it would run on 91 just fine, then add a gal of race for every lb of boost after that, 4lbs 91 octane, 8lbs 4 gal of race the rest 91, if you pack fuel I always packed rg just in case I need to raise the octane a little. Or there is a good chance you could run 6lbs at low elevation with the TRF on 91. At high elevation you prob wont even need rg to run that boost.

Prob a tm800, prob a twisted kit, I want to try the 2876 since there the only ones using it, but I might customize it a little and run some other pieces if they work together.

It's a Push RG kit and the guy I bought it from said it's adjustable from 7lbs to 15lbs?? It also has a Dakota 1200 kit. Like I said , I'm a total newbie to turbo sleds so I think the TRF is a no brainer for me at sea level.

Here's how I see it going...I start the day with a tank of RG and maybe carry about 3 gallons with me, bump it up to 10lbs. Then do a mix when I need fuel, turn it down to 7lbs and plug in the TRF. I may even end up having to use 87 and the previous owner said it would run on that if I richen up fuel settings and take it easy getting home.

forgot it was a 1200, add 2 gal of rg to my above post, or the TRF and keep it the same. It seems that 91 oct will make around 200hp then you need to start looking at more, prob get away with 15-20ph more with the TRF. A full tank is over octane and a waste of bottom end power in my opinion.

I may be wrong but i believe the 1200 big bore requires 91 super unleaded period

every big bore I ever owned about 3 of them has recommended 91 .even without boost, if you run less than 91 with the 1200 you are playing with fire, if you turbo the 1200 which by the way is awesome I wish my first turbo was a 1200T, you can't go anywhere but downhill from there. I would run at least a 91/100ll mix or 91/110 race as normal operating fuel. with low boost you stated a Push PG kit you should be able run a maximum of 5 lbs on pump with a Big Bore and 91 octane 6 lbs and up 100LL or 110 mix. at low altitude.
