Any thoughts on if they will make the track a 2.5 lug? doo has 2.5" and poo 2.4" i believe. Oh and M8 is my vote.

Probably a 2.6x170":smokin:

Seriously though, they should be 2.5" and what about drive pitch?

i think pricing on the M8 will be in the 11,599-11,799 range.....why wouldnt it be? PRO RMK is 11,799....ok so skidoo is a little more but thats why there are a lot of 2011 Etecs on the lots and 0 Pros available.

This is just a ? if there was a m1000!!!

The 8 did not take out the m1000, I outweigh a friend riding a 8 ho by at least 70lbs, prob closer to 100lbs in reality. I added a full pipe and a few other thing and I pull right with most of the time and on long pulls walk away. So for someone that is 6'6" and 220lbs there is no way I am going to be able drop that much weight so the m1000 is the equalizer, terminator what ever. no other motor has ever done what the 1000 has.

M1000 is a sleeper. Not worth bragging about until you give it the full SLP treatment. M8 HO is much more impressive. However, when pipes are put on both sleds (even porting in the M8) the M8 isn't in the same league. I can't tell the difference in the weight. I've got an '09 M1000 with full SLP goodies and weight removed and a 2010 TM8 with LOTS of weight removed and the weight really doesn't feel that different.

If hills isn't your thing, you'll never see the difference between the M8 and M1000. I ride with 2 good friends who have '09 and 2010 M8's with SLP pipes and porting (the complete kit) and they are jewels. In the tree's and racing around they are awesome. When we hit a hill, they do great but just don't have the shear power of the 1000.

I can feel the weight on the front end of the M1000 vs the M8. Ridden 07 and 09 M1000s.

No question about it.

I also don't like the slow response of the M1000.

The M1000 is more like a Cummins, slow revving but torquey.

The M8 is more LS1 V8, very revvy, smooth and extremely responsive. My 11 M8 feels a lot more like the XCR 800 triple motor I used to have. Very snappy, responsive and just plain way more fun to ride.

I would love to ride this 4 stroke turbo to see what its like in the trees.

So I get that the valved 1100 offers epa compliance with higher HP trail and now MTN

The 800 ho offers lite small bore performance

May be that in 2012 they punch out the m1 to m12 to stay lite and on top in the direct injected HP king-dom?:face-icon-small-hap

I'll be riding my 09 m1000 for at least another year there is no way i would lay down over 10 g's on something I don't get to try first. I know cat will have all there sleds in the blackhills next feb to do demo rides so I will wait and try them then and look at the 13's.

As far as the 800 vs the 1000 stock there close but after slp pipe and good clutching and a good fuel map (not slp) they are an animal best mod sled I have ever had pull rope and go. Had big bores and tripple tripples they were a pain the *** the 1000 will be missed. I hope the 4stroke turbo won't be a pig like the nitro turbo I rode for a day was.
So I would take the 1000 if they made it in 12. if not the 4T if it don't way a ton, then the 8 would be my last choice. my.02

I was comparing stock M8 to stock M1000, not interested in spending 1500 on a new sled to make it run, I am a mechanic for a living and I just want to ride not wrench when I go play, Stock M8 is a funner sled than a stock M1000, for me anyway just my 2c

I think I'll take the new T1100 mountain, I love my Yami, but I like the closed loop system on the Cat. It's the way a turbo system should work.
