I wouldn't necessarily say that I'm stuck with my ol 7...in fact I'm looking forward to taking the ol girl out.

Started out the season looking pretty average. Whipped up a homebrew 2 wheel kit. Then I pulled the dash assembly off and threw on a plate to cover the holes in the head. For this season need to figure out a little better intake system. The florites work well but get plugged pretty easy.

That bar set-up from Pro Taper has been a standard on Polaris' top of the line sleds for the last 3-4 years. Some like it, some hate it. You can find them through a dealership or search for a displeased customer who removed them in the swapmeet section. No matter what you do, you likely are going to need both a brake and throttle cable extension to make it work on the 99. Have a fun season on the great old iron.

I need updates but with those pro tapers i added a 2inch riser and re routed my stock brake line, i installed the older style master cylinder and wired dragon style switches in the panel i did need a throttle extension.
since i cant afford a new sled i wanna stretch or find a newer chassis to swap my engine!!! these 700's pull hard!

Did you need anything to adapt the bars to the stock mount?

I assumed wire/throttle extensions would probably be needed. I just really like that bar setup and need a bit more rise

I did something very similar to the pro-taper bars the 1st couple of seasons that I had my sled. Instead of pro-tapers though I went online and ordered a set of chromoly bmx bars. they gave me a 6 or 7 in rise and had a couple degrees of pull back. They were only like 40 bucks and worked very well. They allowed me to pivot them forward without having to have a pivot riser. I found that all you really need is a throttle extension. with some creative re-routing you can gain the extra length that you need out of the brake line.

Saw an '00 600xcsp on Craigslist yesterday, thinking of buying it and sticking a 144" track and skid under it. Can't get over the fact that those things got 15mpg anyday of the week and 15k miles... Hmmm

old reliable!!!!!!!!

Man I love this sled. Its the sole reason I bought my XCR in the first place. I just hope mine turns out half as nice. I didnt know you were still around.

Where is your clutching and gearing at on your sled? How long is your track? What drivers do you run?

Been laying in the weeds. Ive been watching your build waiting to see what you come up with. Love the seat tank combo. Looks good. That motor loves the mountains!!!!!! Ive been running a camo 156x2x15 since its birth. This year it got a new track. 162x16x2.3

Gearing was just over 2.1 to 1 (40-19)

Clutching is always changing, I ran a button then a roller and now im back to a button With all the good stuff. Shifts awesome.

Keep goin ill bewatching.

PS. I took over 80 pounds off the sled. Lots of weight can be lost.

Ive ridden every chassis after the gen 2 and would not change with them for a second.

Until the pro chassis !!!!! can i fit that tripple in there?

Good luck

No pics, my computer just puked and I'm on a work computer.
But, its an 04' RMK 800, SLP twins, Iceage rails, C.E. 174"x2.5"x16", Gripper skis, RSI aluminum bars, billet throttle, wilwood master cylinder, handlebar switches moved to counsel, headlight delete (replaced with vent), Boss seat, and I went through the motor last fall. This summer I've checked just about everything, and replaced alot of the stuff that typically goes bad when you least desire it to.

Its about ready to ride, just need to put the primary clutch back on, set up belt deflection, and hopefully get a road ride in this weekend to see how it goes (yes, I love living in CO!).
