Finally finished installing the Mountain Fit Hood on my 1100 Proclimb. This hood came with the optional headlight shelf that blocks off the headlight area and allows it to be used as your intake plenum. All the vents came with the hood as well as the shelf. Hood took a fair amount of trimming and some ingenuity was required to trim and install the headlight shelf as well as mount the gauge and find a solution for the key and 12 volt accessory plug.
I could have used the moulded locations on the hood for the key and 12 volt plug however I didn't want to have to worry about the wires penetrating the intake shelf and potential sealing problems.
All the rivets in the headlight area were treated with silicone to prevent the pull tab from falling in to the intake area. As well I added some pre-filter material on the fitting I used to attach the flexible duct between the intake plenum and the factory turbo 90 degree elbow.
I haven't put any more than 1 or 2 miles on with this hood so no real reviews yet. It is significantly lighter than the stock hood. As well the intake and EVO BRV valve noise is significantly quieter. (not necessarily a good thing as I love the sound of the EVO BRV valve at work while I ride)
Anyway, BRV noise aside I feel the hood looks really great and thought I would share some photo's of the finished product. LED headlight on a quick disconnect mount will be finished in the next week or so.
