I have a 1994 polaris 440 indy sport. it starts and sounds great and idles fine. you can kill it and restart it with ease. the weird part is if you ride it for a mile plus and try and slow to a stop it will die and not restart until you let it sit for a while. the carburator on the mag side also leaks gas out of the overflow. the carb has been inspected and looks clean and in good shape. good clean gas. good oil. it is getting spark.

possibilities:
Stator?
needle and seats?
floats?
........

Please the sled has a new engine. less than 1000 miles.

check float levels, especially on the on the carb that has fuel coming out the over flow. Remove fuel bowl and turn carb upside down. The brass flapper should be parallel to the base where the bowl mounts.

the flapper appears to be in order. when you say floats you mean the black plastic round set.? the seam to go up and down smoothly.

Does it have a fuel shut off valve? You just described what happened too mine and it was the valve....going bad and choking the gas off. Replaced the valve and all is well.
