Evolution Powersports is proud to announce that we have teamed up with Turbie Performance. We are releasing TESTED belt life improvement products. The first is our TCL elimination bracket. The purpose of this product is to decouple the engine from the jackshaft and go back to a more traditional engine/jackshaft layout. The wobble bearings along with soft jack shafts that deflect considerably when under load coupled with excessive engine movement are the primary causes of clutch misalignment and therefore poor belt life. (We will save clutch quality problems for another discussion) With our TCL elimination bracket, we are supplying a traditional straight roller bearing. We are able to do this because the jackshaft is now fixed and aligned with the chain case jack shaft bearing. Once the movement is taken out of the PTO side, the top gear in the chain case will now stay in plane with the the bottom gear and chain. Chain & gear life are vastly improved once this movement is eliminated. You will notice that on the new Viper and 7000 series, Arctic Cat has completely abandoned the TCL and have set up their engine/jackshaft like ours.

This product was tested all last year along side control sleds to verify the improvements. Turbie can answer more questions directly with respect to his test schedule. By the end of the year, he had over 10 times the belt life that he had in the beginning. (Over 1000 miles per belt)

These kits are being sold in 3 stages:

Stage 1 consists of the Turbie/EVO TCL elimination bracket and replacement PTO side roller bearing

Stage 2 is the above items with the Turbie/EVO supplimental Engine Braces with harder durometer motor mounts. The engine braces & motor mounts allow the engine to be held in securely without the concern of the heat exchanger tabs breaking off - the stock aluminum tabs on the heat exchanger are removed. The engine braces mount to the tunnel with rivets and bolts and have doublers in key areas for strength.

Stage 3 is the items in Stages 1&2 along with our new 300M jackshaft. This shaft has been strengthened in key areas. The 300M Alloy Steel will resists bending and will do a far better job of keeping the secondary aligned with the primary. Our shaft will allow the use of the stock 1100T gears (with reverse) and stock chain or our HD Link Belt chain. We have found that once the movement and angle changes of the top gear with respect to the rest of the gears & chain is eliminated (along with installing a manual chain tensioner) the gear & chain problems largely disappear.

More details & pictures of our new Jack shaft will be posted shortly.

The installation of this kit requires all of the skills necessary for removing the stock jackshaft and stock engine brace as well as pressing the bearings off and on the jackshaft. The stock brace will need to have the bearing pocket removed in order to allow fitment of the new TCL Elimination Bracket. This can be accomplished with a sawzall and a bench grinder. We will be supplying detailed instructions for those who have the capability to do this job. If you are buying our Stage 3, the bearing will be pre installed on the shaft.

For those who do not have the skills to do the complete job, you can send your existing TCL bracket to us for modification and your jackshaft for bearing removal and installation. The charge to do the cutting and grinding of your shaft as well as the pressing of the bearings is $100.00.

Turbie will be at our HAYDAYS Booth (SCN7) doing the modifications on site for those who want to bring their TCL bracket and Jackshaft. We will have special pricing for the labor and kits for Haydays.

I just fell out of my chair and choked on the chip I was eating

Chris, you were one of the lucky ones....

For those who have had the experience of blowing 3 $200.00 belts in a day, that more than covers the cost our Stage 1.

The stock jackshaft cannot handle the power delivered by our big turbo sleds forever. They will fatigue over time and eventually break.

The engine brackets are for peace of mind and allow stiffer motor mounts to be used without concern of breaking off the tabs on the heat exchangers.

$1200 (or 6 belts) to bullet proof a 300 hp sled is a pretty good investment...

Guess there going after the belt blowers. Hard to justify to a guy that has a normal belt life.

Correct. If you sled does not blow belts, leave it.

For those that do, this will vastly improve your belt life. If you have a completely stock drivetrain and one of our big turbo kits, you may want to consider some of these components to beef up your driveline.

Are you supposed to run this fix In conjunction with the gears and chain fix?

This kit eliminates the angle changes that take place in the chaincase with the clutch side of the engine moving around. Chain life is increased with this kit regardless. We still think it is a good idea to put a manual chain tensioner in regardless.

Looks great! Would love to see it mounted on the sled though!
