I don't like how it's engaging. Currently I have he Polaris 10-58 weights with the correct spring ( can't remember the number).
It engages at 4000-4250 rpm. Would like to lower that engagement point.
Any suggestions that would help current set up? Or do I need to get a kit
I have noticed that different kits. Any Pro's or Con's to SLP , bikeman, Carl's .....,

In Laramie WY at 7260' and up to 11,000 in the Snowys we use 10-60s and black stock spring (140-330) for the stockers with can. (12 and 15 800-163 sleds)
and on my 11 800-163 with Stage 3 SLP, I have a Lightning 63g with SLP Blue-Pink They are all engaging at 4100 to 4250 at altitude and seems to be right IMO. I am still trying to get the helix and Spring combination right on my 800 with SLP. Has anyone here done anything with Shimming the Helix (in this case I have the stock helix 56-42-36 with SLP Black-Purple) and seems to shift out only ok, but I think the Finish angle is to steep and needs to go back to 56-40-? A couple of people said to try shimming the Helix down by .050 to .075 between the Snap ring and helix saying that that makes the ? number become closer to a 33. any comments or information here would be appreciated!!

TRS,

Can you give some background on that setup? Seems contrary to a lot of the other clutching recommendations I have seen for a similar sled.

It does sound interesting as I have wondered about lighter weights and springs.

Aren't you running that other helix on the stock gearing?

Maybe I need to recheck my notes.
Edit:
Justin you are correct, thanks
54 34 .36 ER Helix(same one I use in the 600)
I was testing the 46-32F. I'll have to pull my secondary and have a look to see which one is back in.

looking for clutch guru help too ...

what's recommend for 15 pro 800 running at sea level to 2500'?

Have a pair of stock 800's that are running stock gold spring and stock weight (I assume) and engaging at 3400 - and have a used 14 pro 800 that has the black spring (not sure of weights) and is engaging at about 4100.

The 14 with the black spring is much livelier and definitely pops when needed while the 15 are logy by comparison ....

Whats the best set up for sea level elevation?

2 different setups I ran on the 15 for 8-10,000' , stock belt drive, 163 track
54 34 .46 ER or .36 ER
120-220 Red/Green secondary spring
140-330 Stock Polaris primary spring
60 gr Lightning weights
If you had your sheaves machined use the Polaris 120-310 primary spring
You could try either setup using lightnings in the Polaris recommended gram weight, for your elevation.

Testing
46-32F
100-150 red/yellow secondary spring
110-290 Polaris Primary spring
59gr. Lightning weights
This is not for a heavy weight rider.( -200#)

I have this helix ready to go in. Will try to perfect my "traditional" setup, then change and see how this works @ sealevel. Literally! sealevel.

Have series-10, MDS, Straightline and I think some MTX weights to mess around with.

Hi Tony,

I was thinking about trying your set up for the stock NA pro. My stock sled has a 155 track on it though. How do you think your clutching setup would work on a 155? What would you change?

Thanks.
