The 2019 ecu is similar to the early release 2018. Production was detuned for 2018, and then seems to be right back the way it was on the grey sleds.

I got a 2019 high country, mine says 134kw. Can anyone explain what KW means exactly? Thanks.

KW to HP

We have a 2019 Alpha One 154" on our showroom floor and it has 100kw??

100kw=134.1 hp?

251kg=553.3 lbs?

I have noticed The kw rating has been dropping since 2013. I think the 13 was 113kw? 14 was 108kw, no idea about 15-17, 18 was 104kw.

The question is what motivation would Cat have to drop the kw rating that is reported to the EPA? Surely, it affects the emissions requirements or something or else why would they report it. Personally, I wouldn't really put much weight into that number. I am more curious what Dynoport and some of the others find.

Hp #s are good info for a starting point comparison and sh*t talking. I use them in my favor whether my engine has more or less. Have fun with it.
Aftermarket Dyno comparison is more credible.
Real world comparison is what i believe and really care about.

Who cares about the stock HP#s, only if horsepower is your main goal. I bought an 18 last year coming off a carbon fiber C3 XP, all I can say is I haven't been able to handle my sled like that in a long time. Never could get use to the xp platform even at 360 lbs. The ascender platform fit my riding style better than the rest..I know I rode them all before I bought one. I checked another sled this year, Alpha, and I have a Silber kit coming for it. I don't believe stock they have the most power, I think Doo has that title. I think an 850 should have more power. I wouldn't buy a first year motor from Polaris if they were giving them away, about time they got a decent motor in that sled. Im looking forward to the riding season ahead, seeing them on the hill, and seeing what issues they might have. Time will tell that. Pick the sled that fits you as a rider, horsepower is easy to add!!

Can a dealer update the 18 ECU to the 19 settings? The power bump would be nice but I'm assuming this update elimnates the exhaust flame.

Honestly, we have a 18' grey early season, a 18' MC early season and a 18' MC production here. No power difference between both.

now, both 18's early season have updated mapping, but we send one before for compare with other to see if a difference are noticed.... again no difference.

18' Updated ecu mapping just corrected little thing on mapping.
