Aligning Clutches...Question

Ok...

So I followed the procedure for tightening the engine. I ended up grinding down a washer (0.02") thick to shim between the motor and rear pto mount. So I guess that means my chassis is pretty straight!

Now Im using a SLP alignment tool. First of all... what clutch is on a my 06' SB? All I know its a rapid reaction Team.

What does the tied clucth look like?

I just need some feedback to get me on the right track.....:face-icon-small-win

Attached are a couple of pics

The stock clutch on your Switch is a Team TSS04. Here is what the Tied clutch looks like... you can spot one easily by the exposed rollers.

Thanks...thats what I thought.

So first I need to set the correct offset (which I believe is .085 in the front and .125 in the rear) To get that I need to lap a spacer .020".

With the correct offset then I will check to see how much freeplay I have.

Hopefully get it aligned tonight.

Thanks for the response!

If it has a 4 bolt helix its a tss04 if it has 8 bolts its a tss98 ,far as i know they come with a tss98 clutch.

So I'm in the same boat here and just checked and I have 8 bolts on my helix which means I need to set the front up to .000 and between .000 to
.020 in the rear (got SLP stops)

But in the SLP instructions it says the TSS-98 is 2005 and older polaris
TSS-04 for 2006-10 polaris IQ

So I'm confused as to which tolerances I need to go by

Yeah there are too many options with those SLP instructions....ha

Try calling SLP. They should be able to tell you for sure.

I just used the offset that made sense.... .085 in the front and .125
