Just up there, rode on Friday and Saturday.

Hard base with not a lot of fresh on top. Hopefully the snow coming in the next few days dumps a lot new snow.

Very windy conditions and snow on Saturday made it tough, but still able to get some decent riding in.

Rode Fri/Sat, as well. The fresh on top of the crust was maybe 3-6 in. at best, if in a protected area. But then some open areas are blown away. Plenty of overall snow depth back in trees. Hoping for a nice new dump of snow to freshen things up.

Where did you guys ride at on Saturday? We stayed close to U for a bit in the morning then went north a bit on O trail. The wind and snow sure made it tough.

Showed up with trucks/trailers everywhere and left with only a few still out around 330.

Jumped off U by Silver Lake, worked our way south and west and eventually back up to V.

Planning to stay at Albany Lodge next week. I'm concerned about warm temps. Will the trail to the mountain range hold up? Our group doesn't require fresh powder but we don't want to trailer each day.

If you are not concerned about fresh snow then you should have no problem, there is plenty of snowpack. Their parking lot and anywhere else where it is plowed may get a little muddy but everything unplowed should be just fine.

Please give a report back during or after the trip. We are headed out in 6 days and are trying to decide in the next few days to stick it out and head there or chase some snow if somewhere in the US gets any!

If you're driving far anyway, I would always suggest chasing powder. Keep an eye on the next system, we should be seeing a pattern shift this weekend. So 6 days from now you should be able to find the goods. Might be southern CO, might be Snowies, might be northern WY but you'll be able to find some goods.

My folks went up today - 42 degrees this afternoon at 9800' :(

Hopefully the snow will show up soon - They said the moose are enjoying the warm weather - watch out for them on the trails west of Rob Roy and in the Rambler area. We need some fresh snow and cold weather to drive them back down to the lower elevations :)

12" of fresh today in the open areas around French Creek and 18-24" in the woods. All on top of an extremely thick icy crust. Light winds. Big fluffy flakes. [Should be more to the north and west of 130/U Trail]. Awesome riding today.

And..... it was snowing like crazy up there when we came down at 4-ish and snow expected to continue through to Friday. :)

Two more days for us. But for those thinking on the weekend, the Snowy's are back in business !!

Location must be off on that forecast. Winter is over here. All the snow is at Rabbit Ears & Vail pass. Nothing to see in the Snowies, move along everyone! :face-icon-small-ton
