'12 Pro 800 vs '13 Pro 600

What do you guys think? Does the belt drive on the Pro 600 and weight difference between it and a '12 Pro 800 make it a worthy upgrade? Reviews last year show the 600 will run right with the 8's in all but the steepest and deepest terrain.

Then there is always that sweet running 600 motor.

i dont see how the 600 would be better. the 800 and the 600 both weigh 417, and last year i think the 600 was heavier

I'd take the '12 any day. If I had to buy one without warranty though I would have to think about it.

Heck, maybe a boosted 6' could be the answer. Pricey though.

Not a chance that a 13 600 is going to run with a 12 800. A belt drive isn't going to make 30 horse up. They are both the same weight so I don't know why anyone would buy the 600 unless it was a money issue. Reliability isn't an issue with the warranty they are giving.

Another way to look at it is..... Can the 2013 pro 600 that weights 16 lbs less and comes with a 4 yr. warranty be a better buy than a hold over 12 800 with only the one year warranty. Both are $10,000

You are right. But the 12 6 and 12 8 are the same. That was what I am getting at. Some of the 12's will have 3 years left, some with only one. I will take a 12 800 anyday over a 13 600. Not a close comparison in my book.

The 600 weighs less than the 800:

Ready-To-Ride Weights 2012
Polaris Pro RMK 800: 530 lbs
Polaris Pro RMK 600: 526 lbs

It makes sense, as the 600 engine uses a different crank.

Not pointless. I would take the 600. I rode a 2012 600 PRO RMK this season and will have a 2013 PRO RMK 600 in the garage next season as well. For comparisons I own a 2011 800 SBA(I know it is not an RMK but it is an 800). The 600 PRO RMK is the funnest sled I've ridden period. All the guys I ride with have 800s 154" or longer(skidoo, cat, and polaris). Two days into our trip last time a guy on a 800 cat did not believe I had a 600...it runs that strong. To each their own but I know I can do more with a Pro RMK 600 155" than a Pro RMK 800 163". I had a friend who rented both say the same thing. Sometimes bigger is not always better(I have my wife believing this as well...lol)
