Clutch rubbing on side panel

I have read somewhere that the primary clutch was running on the side panel. Can anyone confirm this or if anyone has seen this on the 2018 I know there's a brace at the belly pan to help stop that.
Thanks

It rubs first thing I noticed when I took the panel of the dealers demo.

Dealer's demo one close to me has same signs of rubbing against the foam insert that is attached to inside of panel. This is the primary clutch I'm referring to here....

18 Primary clearance is about the same as my 16 with sucked in belly plastics. But that brace on the 18s helps a ton. My 16 has a lot of wear on the belly plastics right where I cut down the rivet.

Saw one on a dealers floor that he said they had taken out for "one demo ride" and not only had it rubbed the foam but it rubbed a hole right through the side panel. Super excited about this sled but I have to believe even with the bracing it will be a problem.

I really doubt cat would consider covering that under warranty.

Well to me, it's a problem it's a mountain sled made to carve and lay over on its side. The fact that it rubs isn't my problem it's a bad design they're problem correct?

I don't think I have ever very owned a sled that I didn't do that to and none of it was from ever sidehilling.
That's what happens when ya ride in the trees.
If you ride trees and never scrap em or getting wedged between trees you certainly ain't riding hard enough in my opinion!

I love you enthusiasm but on a brand new sled I'd like to not have to put duct tape lol just yet

Just like the current panel, i bet it will never rub when sidehilling.
Now if u lay it on its side with the track in the air I'm sure it will rub, just shut it off instead of letting it run.

I agree they have never rubbed sidehiling and I'm sure the new ones won't. You roll the sled with the motor on and it will rub just like they always have. The answer is for Cat to put a tether on the sled from the factory. Not sure why that isn't standard equipment, makes things so much safer. If Cat offered a few more color options and a tether it would be pretty much as close to perfect of a stock sled as possible IMHO.
