It's been 2 years now from when I last bought a new Polaris coil and I need one again now, are aftermarket ones any better?
If any one has one in BC they want to sell let me know

I would just find a used one on ebay.

But why are you killing coils so often? I've ridden and worked on dozens of mid 2000 Polaris big blocks and have only seen 1 coil ever fail.

Are you talking about the coil on the stator plate or the coil the plug wires come out of?

i am talking about the coil that the plug wires come out of, i confirmed things by sniping the ends off the solid core wire and a new plug boot and swapping wires , its the same as last time one side of the coil goes dead.

anyone see a problem with using a coil from a 2000 or a 2003 rmk in my 04 rmk?

I don't think you can use the 2000... in 2001 they changed the ignition some and went with a different manufacturer. I don't believe the 2000 will come forward to the 04.

i put in a 2000 800 rmk coil and it works good for now- maybe im wrecking other components with this?

Go to carl's cycle website and pick off the Polaris part numbers. Then go to EBAY and punch in that part number. Many different models probably use your same coil.
