Default Axys Gearing

I have a 2017 Axys 800 155 with a BD Sidekick. I am using the clutching that BD supplies with the kit. I ride 6500-8500. I have been going through belts every 150 miles. I would like to gear mine down and see if it helps with the belt heat. I ride the trees. I am very very "choppy" throttle rider. I am not very good at letting it cool down. I am also about 250# with Avi pack on.
I'm confused on the info I am receiving. The TRS Clutch thread mentions that my stock gearing is 2.22. The info I received from TK1 is that my gearing is 1.96. TK1 is suggesting a 2.17. Obviously I think he knows his stuff and 95% trust what he is saying, but why am I seeing different here on the board?

1.96 is the drive ratio of just the belt drive and 2.22 is the Final drive ratio which takes into account the size/tooth count of driver. As have 7 or 8 tooth drivers effectively changes your gearing aswell

lower gearing can be helpful for sure

but........... if you're going through belts every 150 miles
(2-3 rides) something is not right with your clutching

you might wanna try that TRS clutching

Just remember that Tom's kits (TKI) ratio's are based off 8 tooth drivers.
( at least that is what I remember of the conversation)
I went through alot with him on ratios..till I just went with swapping my tiny stock 7's to 8's
I think you have alot more going on than gearing...Dive into your BD turbo dealer head, and see what they are setting them up at ..should be no secrets.

First thing to check is clutch Alignment if you haven't aready.... Watched a friend take off secondary, set it on the floor, later put it back on and one of the alignment spacer was laying on the floor and he never saw it. Also check motor mounts.

Go with the Vohk clutching my buddy was having same issue and going through belts and the Vohk clutching dropped his clutch temps dramatically and thus helping belt Life we knew his was way hotter than mine but now same temp or even cooler than mine
