I just installed the pro bumper and it doesn't seem to fit right. I'm 90% certain I had my dealer order the model number for the 2018 model. However, it touches the hood, and I had to chop the heck out of the plastic piece under the a-arms that the bottom of the hood screws into. Anyone installed one of these and do you know if it's supposed to be like this?

Thanks

You should have part number 7639-798, they changed the proclimb bumper on the Ascender chassis.

So is the consensus that you guys that have a 2018 prefer the Pro Bumper 7639-798 over the Pro MTN Bumper 7639-792? ( I understand the last digits specify color)

Not speaking on color but, what are you finding is the pros / cons of each bumper? Style? Performance? Ergo's? Strength?

Thx.

That looks awesome and thanks for posting pics! The pic from underneath with the OEM skidplate installed helps me out as well. I have the skidplate on order and am planning to order a bumper tomorrow. I was originally going to order the Pro Bumper, but this Proclimb Bumper looks great as well and appears to offer ample protection at a lower price than the Pro.

Does anyone have a few pics of the Pro Bumper installed as a comparison?

the pro bumper is a lot better stronger don't flex like the PRO MTN don't hold the snow and don't have the sharp edges that may impel you one day

Lets get some things straight, there 3 different bumpers that are often confused.

1. ProMOUNTAIN Bumper- holds more snow, bends easier, flat metal, smaller handholds, sharper edges, 3.0lbs.

2. ProCLIMB Bumper- let's out all the snow, lots of grabbing, round tube design, pretty durable, best looking/sleekest imo, 3.5lbs

3. PRO Bumper- more similar to the ProCLIMB, round tube, may hold more snow. Slightly heavier, a little bigger/bulkier , more money also.

7639-798 is called ProCLIMB bumper (been on back order since sep1st, w/no available ship date ) not Pro Bumper, thats a different one.

I had a heck of a time to find it in the medium green Country Cat told me the last one they had... $179.00

Its pretty sad that the bumper has been on back-order this early in the season.

What aftermarket alternatives are out there now?

I'd like to see some of the alternatives. I don't really want to wait for AC to get their inventory together if there are alternatives out there.
