Has anyone run the AER yet?
all the 17 seals will fail. All the 18 were rock solid no failures, they have different seals
I have a new, left over 17. Are the seals interchangeable with the 18's? I have a Trio as well. I was planning on taking the 4CS off my 16' 450 and swapping around with the AER to the 17'. Little longer but that is no big deal to figure out. The 4CS is modified and valved up to my specs, so I hate to use it on a snowbike where that does not matter.
Do the seals fail because the pressure is pumped way up on the 17' AER for snowbike duty?
I build snow bikes , Not one failure on the 18,s, All the 17,s failed, I run 200psiI just bought a 2018 KTM 450 and the dealer that I bought my Timbersled from said that I will need the Trio shock due to all the failures. I am not questioning your statement, just want to make sure I don’t need a $900 shock.
If your '16 4CS is setup for dirt I wouldn't bother swapping it as the snowbike setups are much firmer. I'd run the AER with upgraded seals and you can at least bump up the air pressure. '18 seals fit the '17 forks. I do like my AER on dirt too.
Yes...it's an issue of the seals not being compatible with cold weather. If those forks get stuck down (with or without a trio) it's going to ruin your day.Do the '17's need updated seals if using the trio shock on the front?
