2013 sno pro ran out of gas wont start

Ran out of gas and put in 2 gals and would not start back up, took plug out and poured in gas done this three times and it finally primed itself and kept running all my other efi sleds i have owned when i run out of gas put more in and they started right up any ideas what do do

Have ran out EFI sleds in the past and pulled and pulled and pulled. Then got smart in my old age and have jumped the fuel pump with a car battery to get the system primed.

Haven't tried the 9V battery trick but that would be a slick way to prime the pump in the backcountry.
