Go for it Gato you will not look back...

thanks. I already have it, just haven't ridden but a few miles... the day I got it last year I stabbed the track and tore out the skid, ruined the track etc. so I'm putting her back together for this year. Just wondering about "upgrading" to the M with all the hype I'm reading but for a big guy like me, sounds like I'll be fine with what I have... maybe an upgrade down the road but not now.

It is pretty much just a "drop in." Put spacers on the front arm, and if it's an '07 or newer suspension, you'll have to look at your track/tunnel clearance right above the rear arm mount to see if you need to relocate the rear mount down.

I think a bit different.......

I just sold my M-7 and my Crossfire 7. And now I bought my wife a '09 M-8 Sno-pro. I still ride my King. It's still like new and with the mods., It gives me a adrenalyn rush like no other sled. It climbs higher than most M-1000's.

me and my buddys rode togwotee last feb. one had a 05 kingcat and the other had a new 08 M8. both are pretty expeirenced riders, and i saw it with my own two eyes for 3 days of riding, that M8 153" out climbed that kingcat 162" on dang near every hill climb. M8 all the way.

I had both an m7 and m8 and rode them back to back. The 8 has a ton more bottem end torque. I would say get the 07 m8 and buy a boss seat, slp pipe set, no sno's, and maybe a power claw track for it for the difference ($1500) and it will rip. But do yourself a favor and don,t get the kingcat. The m's work so much better- so you don't have to. my .02

once you go rider forward you'll never go back. M's are sooooo much easier to ride. no comparison, the king was great back in the day, but those days are gone...

I wouldn't pay $5500 for the king cat. I just sold a mountain cat 900 159" track <900miles for $4000, thats all I could get for it. Go for the M8, 07' or 08'. Otherwise your going to end up selling the king cat next year to buy the M8. I just sold 2 mountain cats, a 900 and an 800 after our first year of riding. We upgraded to an M8 and M1000 this year. We threw away lots of $ because we didn't buy exactly what we wanted to start with.
