They bought a brand, not a top quality product. Ill never buy 509 goggles again, first of all ,theyare not an optic company like oakley, they are just a brand, i buy products from specialised companys. For the same cost as thier avaitors i bought oakley airbreaks with 2 lens on sale during black friday.

I also heard they are buying BRP. Skidoo don't know how to make a sled handle so polaris is buying them and are going to redesign the chassis to make a real mountain sled.

I agree with snobyrd.

Everybody should look at the Dragon goggles. They are, without a doubt, the best snowmobile goggle I have ever had. I have two pair. I took all of my other goggles to the second hand sporting goods store.

Goggles/lenses are such a funny product for people.

On the golf course I never play without my Oakley's on. The contrast is incredible. However I could not find a single lens that worked for me in flat light in snow and gave my Airbrakes away. I only ride with 509 goggles (both the X5's and Aviators) and can't imagine having anything else with me while riding.

I looked at dragon but didnt seal well inside my helmet, but looks like a nice product. The airbreaks with prizim lens fit my needs, and love the ability to swap lens in 30 seconds.

Did u try prizm rose in oakley, i was with some guys a few weeks back in flat light and a new area and i had to lead cuase they couldnt see contrast. They were wearing 509 yellow. I was taking lines on walls while they stayed at the bottom and followed tracks, great for me cause i got the powder.

I have both aviators and x5's aswell, too much fogging. I have tried all kinds of things with my layers of gear too. I ride without goggles half the time, just prefer to see. I have real problems with low light also, just tried blue lenses and love them!

I had a set of zeal goggles (rose lens), worked really well but lost them. Probably going to buy another set, they have much better air movement. Too much for the trail ride almost, get cold eyes lol.

yep, every prizm lens they make (Buddy is a diehard and has them all) and nothing worked as well for me as the the 509 yellow or Polarized yellow. I swap between those two on overcast days and never have a problem seeing terrain. It's funny but even Oakley recommends their "High intensity Yellow" in the airbrake for overcast days and not the prizm lens yet most prefer the prizm.

Plus the other Oakley "issue" for me was the airbrake let in more air around the frame (kind of like the 509 Aviator does too). Nice for warmer days but they were cold on the sub zero days. That's were the X5's are really nice IMO. But then again the helmet you wear makes a big difference in that too.

You could try these goggles:

http://www.abom.com/

I seen them come up the other day on something and have no idea how they work but for someone who has constant fog problems they might be the ticket. I would guess they are expensive.

I can agree on the airflow comment, the airbreak are colder on cold days due to air moving accross the the lens.

Yup pricey, but it may be the only pair you ever need. Right now I have 3 pairs I carry with me so I can change them out when they start icing/fogging.

Gladly have only one pair for that price if they work.

Looking into them, gotta be sure they will fit in a helmet. They look rather large.

The concept might be good but they dont have optic knowledge like a optic company. If you ubtue prizim by oakley, you will see thier science backing thier lenes.

That concept might be perfect for a person like BILTIT who can't see the fogging. I bet he could care less about "optic knowledge" when his goggles are full of fog. LOL

If you youtube any of the major goggle companies you can see the science backing their product......It's called marketing and those at the top are darn good at it.

Yup, any optical knowledge that is better than bare eyes in a blizzard (no goggles) works for me lol. I wear contacts that don't quite fit properly (had laser surgery years ago and eyes have gotten worse since, eyeball shape is different and contacts don't fit right) so my opticals ain't the best anyways.

I am just waiting a reply about the dimensions of the abome goggles (if they will fit my helmet), if yes I will most likely try them.

Will be selling all my 509 junk (aka fog o nine), might try some klim goggles too. Couple people I ride with have no issues with them.
