2011 or 2012...help!

I am racking my brain on whether to buy a new 2012 or buy a hold over 2011 Everst.

So bottom line hold over 2011 Summit Everst with 800 ETEC 154" for $10k plus or buy a new 2012 Summit X 800 ETEC for $11 to 12k. Money is obviously my big issue, I'm having a hard time not buying the 2011. 2012 has very minor upgrades in my mind but you can get a 3 year warranty.

What are your thoughts?

I would go with the 12 because of the extra warrantee and the higher value when ya get ready to trade or sell it again! it will be worth the extra for at least a few years. the ten you are going to get hit with a even greater depreciation right off the bat!! Just my opinion!

save your money and buy a left over 2011 everest. New chassis will be coming out most likely in 2013 and the 2012 and lower sleds will lose residual value quick.

why does everyone think a new chassis is coming???? Minor upgrades to a solid sled.

a new chassis will come, they will have to. Advances out there with other companies. Every 4-5 years they bring something new.

snowmobilies have almost peaked in my mind. how much do dirt bikes change in "chassis" year to year? i still think that doo will launch a new chassis,,, but maybe not.:focus: i would buy the 2012 x model. definitly worth the extras you pay for,,,, get the 2.5 track. 1st mod if doo hasnt started putting it on their stock sleds would have to be a roosterbuilt clutch kit. ride it and love it!:cheer2:

agreed Skidoo will have to come out with a new chassis as you watch market share for 2011MY and 2012MY for skidoo will decline hard. You will see Polaris and Arctic Cat gaining it from skidoo

After looking at all my options, I purchased a nicely discounted 2011 Summit SP from Hinson's in McCall, ID. Thought about waiting for a 2012 but decided to go with a proven sled and save the $3,000 difference.
