Mountain Cat ES 153" (electric start) with tool kit, spare belt, windshield bag, oil tank filled to the top, with lithium battery (-11 lbs) and 5 gallons of fuel 524 lbs. Note: 3lbs subtracted from the 527 shown for the weight of the ratchet straps.

524+(6.25lb/gal*6.7gal remaining capacity) puts you at 566 ready to ride with ES. Theoretically of course depending on temperature and assuming older 11.7 gal capacity tank.

Edit: I just checked the spec sheet that came with the sled and it states that the ES model comes with a 10.5 gallon tank.[/QUOTE said:
My sled had enough fuel in the tank from the dealer to start and load. When I went down the street to fuel up it took 11.4 gallons so I suspect they have an 12 gallon tank.

Yeah, that makes sense. Last night I dumped in what fuel I had at the shop, which is about 9 gallons total and it looks like there may be room for another couple gallons or so.

boondocker97's math is right on the money. I filled it with fuel (11.7 gallons) and it came in at 569 minus 3lbs for the straps for a full wet weight of 566.

To put in prospective on just how far sled technology has come, I weighed my buddy's older Polaris 550 fan cooled 136" sled. It has a windshield bag, handle bar bag, taller seat, tool kit, 1/2 tank of fuel (just guessing 5 to 6 gallons) and no electric start. It weighed in at 528lbs minus the 3lbs for the straps.
Back in the day a guy would have bought a fan cooled sled for the lighter weight. I never would have guessed that it would weigh close to the same as a liquid cooled 800 153" with electric start!

It's a Shorai LFX27A3-BS12

That’s still a pretty big and heavy battery at 4.95lbs according to the website. Last time I weighed a stock car battery it was 12lbs., so you lost 7lbs. The starter motor and related mounting hard ware I’ll bet is at least 10lbs, plus there is a couple pounds of electrical cable and battery mounting hard ware. Plus the ES sled has the old heavy gas tank, non-ES tank is about 5lbs lighter. I’d guess you’re still close to 25lbs heavier than a nonES sled. Do that puts the non-ES under 550wet. But non-ES holds 1-2 more gallons of fuel, so who knows. I’ll weigh my non-ES MC 162 tomorrow RTR when i pick it up and see

The lithium battery is actually lighter then what their website states!

It is worth noting that this battery is a LFX27L3-BS12 which was left over from my old Nytro. To fit the MC without extending the ground cable, you will need to use a LFX27A3-BS12. They are the same with the exception of the terminals being reversed.

No issues in cold weather? How cold do you usually see it?

Other manufacturers need to doo a system like the SHOT on the Dogs to drop weight. Must not be too hard?
