Hi All,

I just purchased the 2016 front end 38 inch kit part number 7639-572 for my 2014 M8000 Sno Pro.

The way I understand this kit, I just take off both upper a-arms and the spindles. I do not need to take off the hood.

After installing set the toe out 1/8 inch on each side. I also read to use blue loc-tite on the upper and lower ball joints?

Anything else I need to be aware of?

Thank you

Yes on the loctite. I lost the little triangle nut while riding. I spent about 30 minutes searching for one and got lucky. Now i carry loctite with me along with the triangle nut as a spare in case.
Should be able to do it with the hood on.

Hi All,

Started putting one side together and I am concerned something isn't right. I have circled a point near the lower ball joint were the lower a-arm is making contact with the new spindle. The lower balljoint nut is not even tight yet which will make this worse. My dealer is telling me once I set the sled on it's own weight this will be a non-issue.

Thoughts? I alsmost was wondering if the a-arms they sent me where for the 36 inch kit but I verified the measurements are correct.

What length are your shocks?

They are the stock length, but this is a 38 inch kit so I was told I did not need to touch the shocks.

The kit comes with 2 upper a-arms and a right and left spindle.

I have the same 38" kit on my 2015. FWIW, mine don't touch. Here is a pic of my 162 with AMS and my 153 with stock arms.

Ok they look pretty close but not touching with weight on them so maybe I am worrying over nothing.

One more question, when you are screwing in that threaded collar in the upper a-arm end (not sure if that's the right name) do you screw it in all the way? The instructions completely left that step out.

Thank you

I wish I could answer that. I actually had my dealer do the install as they did it for super cheap, so wasn't worth it to do it myself. Sorry about that.

May have turn out the upper spindle ball joint a bit - leave a little thread showing.

That's what it looks like to me. I did the zbros uppers with the new spindle and stock 38" lowers. upper arm is a different design, but I had the thread the top heim joint out quite a ways to actually get the spindle vertical. You have to let the tie rods out quite a bit too. Get the tie rods somewhat close, then let the top heim out, put your skis on and put it on the floor, set a ski straight with the track using a long straight edge, use a square on the floor with a tape measure to get the outer flat edge of the spindle set vertical, do that to both sides, and then set the toe last.

How much do you think is safe to let them out when there is less than 3/4 of 1 inch of threads available?

For strength, thread length equal to the diameter of the bolt is all that is needed.
