There are some guys that get on this site about once a year that run a guide service over there. They usually come to the states once a year and buy up a truck load of used sleds to take back over. I had saved one of their post, but lost it in the switch-over. Maybe someone will chime in.

I've talked to the guys with the sled rental business in Hokkaido (the Northern most Island) and may try to get over there this Winter. Northern Japan gets crazy amounts of snow! If not this year, I will ride there sometime soon!

yeah they do get a ton of snow! my Grandpa was there following WW2 in the winter...and in typical army style they weren't prepared for the snow. My grandad ended up taking a TRAIN plow and mounting it on one of the deuce 1/2s to plow out the camp with. He showed me some pictures of it awhile back...pretty crazy stuff.
