The Turbo 1100 is built by Suzuki but was designed by cat specifically for a snowmobile.

I can tell you first hand its closer to a wash with a Boondocker race gas kit on a 2010 or 2011 M8.

I weighed the turbo and oil tank on our UPS scale. About 18 lbs. Stock muffler is 23 lbs. So you save 5 lbs.

Factor in that you lose the stock intake plenum but gain an intercooler, charge tube and itty bitty muffler you gotta be close to even. Maybe even save a couple pounds.

YOU ARE NO WERE NEAR ADDING 55 lbs.

540lbs - d&d muffler +10-20hp -14lbs - boondocker hijacker up to 290hp on 23 lbs of boost. These engines are awesome and tuneable. just need head studs and aftermarket intercooler to run high boost applications. These motors and turbo are good to 23 lbs of boost stock! upgrade to a garret 2860 and different controller over 24lbs boost and up to 400 hp awsome!

If thats true then that is a retarded amount of boost for that little engine. Thats not too far from my diesel truck. Im sure something like that would put a big ole :scared: :heh: on my face.

a rep at the west yellowstone expo told us that the new proclimb 800 is within 5 lbs of last years m8 and depending which rep we talked to we was told the 1100T is 60-75lbs heavier than the 800. i dont know exactly what last years m8 weighed to do the math, but one rep said the 1100T should be in the 530-535lb range. if it is 60-75 lbs heavier, from what i saw just removing the can should make up half of that. the can on the 1100T is HUGE, fills the hole right side when you open the side panel thats all you see.

DD straight pipe lol

What happens when a 4 stroke goes upside down or rolls over? Can they keep the oil out of the cylinders? I know Polaris has a dry sump on the FST but there can be big problems on a roll over or it if goes upside down for long. Maybe Cat has it figured out.

That is a very good question......

Anyone have an answer to this one?

On the turbo yamaha sleds the oil runs out not into the airbox like the N/A 4 stroke would. I would not be surprised if they have the oil breather going into the intake tube. Then the oil would run into the tube if upside down. It is possible they have this fixed though with some sort of roll over switch and valve. The main thing is don't let it sit upside down for any longer than needed and make sure to wear the tether so it doesn't run upside down and wreck the motor.

well guys if this thing is 560lbs dry, then add another 90lbs of fluids, another 25pounds of gear, this thing is no better than the nitro pigs, a buddy just weighed his nitro and it was 642 with the mcx turbo, it was a pig in the trees to andle, and we all had to deal with the weight when he was stuck...

it was brought to his attention by a few in the pac, that he needs a lighter sled or different riding partners

etec with a turbo is a handfull at 540lbs wet with a 3 inch track on
