The T-stat will not fit on the older Pros, the 850 has a external t-stat that could possibly be retrofitted to work. A lot of guys put a skidoo external T-stat bypass kit on the older Pros that worked well. Here is the link to that.

The free 4yr warrenty is snowcheck only. The SKS is available to be snowchecked.

But won't the 18 Tstat work in the pro and 16-17 Axys?

If you swap to the 2018 head it will. The 18 T-stat is larger diameter so it wont just drop into the older Axys sleds.

That's good to know. Thank you.
I was not aware the 17 and 18 heads are different.

Starter Engineering?

If this has already been commented on the 840 thread I apologize.

I'm wondering if the engine was under development for 4 years what improvements were incorporated on the electric start system?

Will it be the old unit or will it indeed be like a motorcycle and integral to the block/flywheel?

So why not just all it an 840cc??? I don't get why they have to make up numbers (rounded up of course). I don't think someone is going to choose between a doo or poo solely due to 10cc difference.

For example, the engine in my boat is not 500cuin, its not a 480 or a 470. Its a 462 cuin. Call it what it is.

lol just trying to be silly

why the 850
There's no hiding that the doo 850is the biggest competitor to poo's pro rmk. IF they come up with a 840, no matter the performance, no matter if they beat doos 850 people would still have into their mind 850>840. you have people that want the tallest lugs the most hp etc. Performance is really subjective, you'll get people that wil claim the mtn cat is the best performing just like you'll hear it in from doo summit 850 and poo's pro rmk owners.

that's a sale department decision imo, not an enthusiaste's one

Power sports stuff has always gone more by class size than actual cc’s. Look at dirt bikes, street bikes, ATVs, sleds...almost everything is classed to the nearest 50 or 100. I am surprised to see people (surprised) about that.
