I ate a roller last year for my M8 as well.

Short Story: Go to Amazon and buy a new clutch for $300.

I researched this a lot to try and save $$$. The issue is, the spider is difficult to remove...must use a lot of heat and around 1000 ft lbs (1000, not a typo). Any reputable shop who isn't trying to take your money will tell you that removing the spider may damage the clutch (lots of heat and torque). Then you have the sheaves that are worn, metal that was stressed from eating a weight, bushings are likely shot and the metal very stressed. So, you can spend about $200 to $250 to fully rebuild it or buy a new one. Just buy a new one. Yes, frustrating but that is how it goes for this clutch.

Not an m8...

you will not buy a new M1000 clutch for 300.00 anytime. The m8 clutch is a lot different and you can buy them for 300.00 but NOT an m1000 The M1000 uses a 35 mm shaft and the cat part # 0746-841 you can get them from babbits or cat country for 441.00... we rebuild the M1000 clutches when we need to and use thunder products roller kits ( about $90.00) they work very well. you do need the tools to rebuild it though and a good torque wrench.

Thanks for options, I bought new. I do have Crossfire 1000 also, so I should look into the Thunder Products roller kit. For a back up these things shake pretty good.
I did repair my 80grm weights and picked up a set of 77 and 83's I'm running a complete SLP exhaust and Boondocker.
its a 162 2.25 by the way.
I will run most of the time in the UP but we do make a trip to Rabbit Ear once a year so weight changes are required...
I was running a new baby blue SLP spring and 75 grm weights at Rabbit Ear with the Jacked up spider spinning around 75-7700rpm. It sounded/felt better than the 80grm weights. When In max at 7500.
So kinda starting over when this year comes around. The new clutch with 75's in the motor/clutch is way more responsive. Gotta love the torque.

Rock Rollers

Our Rock Rollers are a much stronger alternative than the stock rollers. The are $49.95.

If you own a Diamond drive sled with over 2000-2500 miles on the stock driven clutch , the movable sheave bushing is more than likely shot and no matter what rollers you use, they will break again.

We have the replacement clutch sheaves for only $289.
