Just waiting for xm to come in, really want to purchase a can but not a fan of loud cans. Mainly looking for weight savings. Any advice? Have always had good luck with slp. Thanks

I ran the full SLP y-pipe, pipe and can on my 12s and will be getting one for the 13XM. Quiet on the bottom and mid-range but it has a nice motorsport sound up top. A little louder but not much. A much nicer, "cool" sound to it. The full system drops 14lbs and adds a bit of power too.

any input on "the thing" with the cooker inside?
Really don't want to go back to frozen sandwiches .. but also don't want a loud annoying sled

I was interested in "the thing" can as well but their website is so hoaky. Besides the can you can buy houses and escorts in Dubai???? Are you selling snowmobile parts or hookers? The P-tech and E-tech motors are not even listed and the only sound clip is with a ZX chasis 800. Maybe they are better at muffler building then web design.

With my XP I was able to mount my cooker between the pipe and my aftermarket can. Is this possible with the E-tec?

Also interested in the HPS. The sound clip on Youtube sounds pretty good.

With a stock etec I could not find 1 spot to mount my muff pot that's why I changed cans.

Maybe you are looking at the wrong site ?
http://www.thesledshed.net/things.html

they do list the etec thing can and have videos with db meter readings for all of their 3 cans

still kinda confused on how the exhaust is routed on "the thing" can considering the muffpot sits right in the middle of the muffler... 104db, that sounds loud !!! (maybe I'm getting old)

That makes more sense. I was looking on www.thesledshed.ca. Though I'm still not impressed.

Leaning towards the HPS or SLP and mounting my cooker between the pipe and the can. Worked well enough to give me warm sandwiches instead of frosty ones.

With the SLP full set up I put the muff pot on the top of the pipe a few inches past the Y-pipe. Worked good but not great. I had to wait quite a while for anything to really heat up especially if it was frozen.
