Will the nylon in the lock nuts holding the exhaust and Y-pipe flange together not melt out over time?

I like to use a razor blade on the cut tab of a zip-tie to eliminate those blasted sharp edges (trim them flush with the lock end). I see you left some hanging out waiting for the next unsuspecting wrencher.

Nice job though.

Only time will tell for the lock nuts. I think they'll be ok. I've trimmed some zip ties because of where they are, most I won't worry about.

Thanks for the help Bryce. I will get a video up as soon as we get a little bit of snow here.

She's a runner. No video except a little in the garage. Waiting on my new Timbersled with Zbroz Exits to get done at the powdercoater. CA has barely enough snow to trail ride so I'm going to wait until I can poke around carefully off trail. Maybe weekend after next.

Got some work done on the sled finally. Winter has been warm here in CA and the snow is very high up. I got my new rear suspension. It's a Timbersled Mt Tamer rear with custom Exits from Zbroz. It has a compression adjustment on the rear shock. Got it powdercoated and put together and installed. Had to use a rachet strap to bring the rear arm 1/2" forward.

Got my front suspension on today too. I installed Tom's spindle centering spacers so the spindle is directly in the center of the ski.

Found a straightline EZC gauge lifter on Denniskirk.com and mounted my EGTs.

Cut my plastics for the cold air intake. Not the best but the side pannel goes in with it connected.

Pretty sweet little build here!! Glad you took so many detailed pictures. One thought though, you may want to cut the out side of the Tial Wastegate and install a flex coupler. Being rigid mounted I could see you having some issues with it over time.

Thanks guys. The Nylocks are doing good for me. I was considering using a flex piece after the wastegate but ended up not. Id like to build the turbo up pipe and exhaust again this summer with a few small changes. Making the wastegate flexible is on the list.

I got mine from turbo performance. I think in the carbed two stroke thread there is a link to where you can buy what you need to build them yourself.

Very, very nice!!!!

Is there any reason you ran the boost controller off the pipe reference, instead of the air box? Wondering if I missed something over the years.

Again very nice job. I might have to do this conversion to my buddies XP.

Thanks for the complements. The reason I ran pipe reference was because when at lower rpm when the turbo isn't charging the system and it doesnt give the fuel regulator a pressure. It could/does develop a lean spot because the fuel pressure regulator isn't working properly compared to the rest of the system. With the pipe reference it always has a pressure making the fuel regulator work all the time. My issue started when I had a low end bog because of too much fuel. I was going to drop my pilot jets to a 15 (and still might) but because I already had taped and plugged the intake for another reference I just tried it from the intake with the 17.5s. I do not have the bog on the bottom end anymore. I also did the pipe reference because originally I was going to run low boost (3-5#). After I got the addiction I ran my boost controller to my intake and am running 9-11#. This season in CA was really bad. The usual spots never got snow and I finally got my clutching and jetting dialed at the end of the season. I will have to say that I hardly have any boost lag and it is very mean on top end. It took me pretty much all year to get it dialed and can't wait for next season.

Set up running 50/50 91/110....

Jetting

350 mains
17.5 pilots
No shims under needle
.20 gapped plugs

Clutching

160-260 primary spring
413 ramps
No pin weight
66-62 .33 team tied helix
120-220 secondary spring

I like running no or low pin weight because it is easier on rollers, buttons, and ramps. It's like running a 200-300 spring with 16 grams of pin weight.

I also moved both of the BOV carb references to the top and installed a fuel primer for the carbs on the lower holes. 3-5 primer pumps and it fires first pull every time.

My fuel pressure reference is the same way. Works very well. I just didn't know about the boost controller referenced the same.

Again, very nice. Makes me want to try a 3071 on my 700......
