Heres the deal, I burned down the PTO side of my 900 on saturday. I have been thinking about doing this 973 thing this summer, but now seams like a good time. What do I need to do it?
I think I have got the basic idea
Buy stock m 1000 pistons.
Get the cylinders bored and nicked?
Get some sort of spacer for the cylinders
Clip exhaust valves to fit new bore
Get heads machined to fit new bore
Does that sound about right? Where do I get the spacer? Can I just take my heads to a machine shop and have them match the bore?
Has anyone had one long enough to really get it dialed in (clutching)?
