With Curts reccommendation... the important part is the 47 ° angle... it initiates the suspension sooner but does not make it harsh...

hey mtnhorse would those part #s fit on the 07 rmk also, and are they heaviest weight then-i need the biggest

YES..these will fit ALL IQ chassis if i am correct..
like Curt/MH said above..this angle will help with alot of things, and if they reccommend these p/ns for the heavier riders..you bet they know what they are talking about..like curt said, they use them on all riders above 220lbs...i am 255 NAKED!!

I swapped out the stockers on my 07 D7 with 7041942-067 & 7041943-067 [.375/77 degree] when it was new to handle my 230 lb (dry weight...lol). I have my blocks set on the medium preload. Would changing these out to the 45 degree spring make much difference in performance? I don't remember seeing the 7042079 and 7042080 springs as an option, have they been available since 07?

I doubt that Curt will chime in again for a while.. he is Swamped filling orders at his shop.
From what we talked about... the 47 ° angle initiates the suspension earlier... so that should improve the overall function of the skid and make it less wheelie prone and remain in control under power.
These springs have been around since at least 2004 from what I can see.
In fact.. they also make a 47 ° .359 spring for the lighter riders that should also improve the function of the skid.

So, I'm not one of these "fatties" yet..... Probably closer to 210 with gear on and if I can ever get my azz in the mood to get into shape a little bit I should be able to lower that considerably.
Anyway, my 9 has considerable sag in the rear, would those springs be what I need to take care of that? Already have the 225 in the front with the spring set with just minimal tension. I have the blocks cranked all the way up for the tension on the Torsion springs and after I get off the sled or it sits for a long time I can pull it up an easy 5-6".

yes these springs will help you regain some if your "lift" and highly recommend them..this is why i started the thread..to clarify some things and help others with something i havent seen addressed much..

i ordered the front track spring & the 2 torsion springs today, im pumped to put them in and see the diff.
the 47 ° springs should help to take out much of the sag.

Ok so I weigh about 170 with gear, I'm thinking the fat boy is going to be a little over kill for me, What spring do you suggest for me? I need to get something better because when I get on my sled the back end sags alot.

Some sag is correct... too much is not.
From what Curt at FTX says, this spring will help the sled perform better and have less sag.

Skid upgrade
Had an 08 D8 which I traded for a leftover 09 D8 163 which I hope to get next Friday. Fought with the stock rear skid on the 08 and a Holz coilover with sag/weight transfer issues etc. Just sold the Holz to help pay towards the following upgrade to the 09 D8. After much discussion,reviewing these threads and most importantly talking directly to Curt at FTXMotorsports, we are doing the following. Install the .375/47* torsion springs, move the rear scissor mounting hole 5/8" back, Exit shocks in the rear skid (compression adjust rear, coilover front track). At a later date I can do a D&Roll and install straight rails for even more improvement if I choose to. One money step at a time. I am 260 lb gear on.:beer;

OK and to throw another wrench in the works... is this with or without the "upgraded" (carl's stiffer) front sway bar in the equation? As the #225 spring seemed to definetley help the handling issues!
