Question for the guys or the gear heads about gutting a thermostat. you gutt a thermostat and the water flows faster and you think it's cooler but my question is, it is flowing faster, hens it not around the cylinders and head as long. So is it pulling the heat from the cylinder wall/ head enough that it doesn't damage the motor long-term.

This is actually the opposite, the faster water move around the cylinder and head wall , it will beter remove heat from the cylinder and head. This is like wind is your face in winter.
