16-17 is the same belt.
I paid ~$900? For a 2016 team primary loaded with MDS weights.
Still using the 2014 stock secondary.

2018 has a longer belt because of the bearing in the primary. Can still use the 2015 secondary.
650miles on my 2018 belt!

If I do that, then I need new weights, springs' belt and would probably end up getting a new secondary to match. Then we are talking well over $1,000. However, my sled is a 2015 and I hate to spend too much......and maybe my clutch is OK?

However, there is this one on Ebay too! Would this work?

Would this primary need a different puller (Blue) than I have for my 2015?
Wow, that is cheap. As long as its in good shape, all u need is the newer belt and take out all the deflection washers from the secondary.

I sent the seller a message to ask how many miles are on it and why they are selling it. We'll see what I get back.

I see this clutch has a built on date of 16 December 2016, so it probably is a 2018 primary.

A new belt for the 2018 clutch is a $143.00. Geesh!

Better than the $190 for the 14-17.

I wonder how you would tell if it's a recalled primary? The recall was done by snowmobile VIN number. There is just no way to know what the VIN number was of the sled this came off?

Here's another option:

Here's a direct bolt on replacement for me. It's even the same year and comes with the weights and spring. This seller emailed back that it came off of a wrecked sled. It's from Kalispell Montana too, and mountain sleds out west don't seem to have high miles like the ones in the midwest seem to have.

My clutch, 9-11-17...and this is a snowcheck.
Anything from 2016 should not be sold to people if those are the early build that were recalled.!!!! Shame shame shame.....

I have done to much to my 2015 to part with the old girl just yet. My clutch may be fine but, the way it looks out of round tells me something is not right. It still works OK, I think but, it's best to get it off and check it or get it checked.

I love the low end of the 18. Ive read frostbites comments about it missing that snap in the midrange to top end that the zuke has and i kinda notice it too.
funny thing is, I felt the early release i rode 1 year ago was snappier all the way around.

Seems there is a different ECU program on the 2019 that is supposed to free up some more HP. Maybe they had that on the ER and then backed it off for the rest of 2018 until they had more experience? I assume it will something the 2018 can be updated with.

I haven't gotten any answers back from the seller of the 2018 clutch yet.

I was wondering, if I did go to a 2018 primary, will it work with my stock 2015 secondary? Is there a offset bar available for that?

I'll pull my primary off this week and and give it good look over. The way it shakes though sure makes me wonder if I have a loose spider? I sure hope it's not a bent crank!

Thanks for the tip Boondocker 97.

I didn't have a clutch grunt tool to hold the primary to break loose the spider and install the 911 clutch cover so I had it done by our local Cat dealer. I wonder if the hard hits in reverse broke the loctite lose?

I have noticed recently that the primary clutch is spinning like its off balance or it actually looks more like my crank is out of specs or bent. You may be on to something!
no reason to
break the spider loose, just the jam nut...unless they had to change rollers...i wonder if the adapter has come loose... pull the cover and check that...if you haven't already.

I talked to Eric at the Racin Station today and he said I would have to send my clutch in to have him look at it.

So, if I pull the clutch cover off. Should i just check everything for tightness?

I am not sure what the adapter is? It must be the large thing that bolts on the clutch that came with the 911 kit?
