As you all know, all we can get in alaska is 90 octane and the new crossfire 8 calls for 91 octane minimum. If you look at toulene it is 114 octane so you only need to add 4/10s of a gallon to get 91 or double that to 8/10s to get 92 octane in 10 gallons of gas. It is supposed to be the cleanest fuel there is. It's cleaner than 100ll av gas and you use less. Any comments or questions.............mark

While I do agree with your theory, I will tell you this. The polaris for many years now have required a minimum of 91 octane. There is not 1 sled in 100, not 1 in 1000 in ak that is running 91 or better and there aren't any issues concerning the fuel. I would run pump 90 and go. Don't worry about the 1 missing octane.

I was missing 5 numbers today and had to turn around. Next time I'll remember to mix the note before.

hey guys i noticed the holiday station on muldon was pumping 91 at the fuel islands...just an fyi

I drove by Holiday on my way to Muldoon Auto today... No 91 octane at the pumps, only 90, as usual.

Had the cat factory guys up here testing on a M 1000 for fuel mapping. They ran a fuel sample to see what we had for fuel up here and according to them our fuel in alaska has more BTUs per unit than comparable fuel grades in the lower 48. Our 90 octane is fine to run. Add a few ounces of octame boost if your worried as it acts as a fuel stabilizer also.

must have been blinded by the fuel island reward speaker...those things are annoying....always puts me into a blinding rage...

Race fuel in Palmer.

Last summer the gas station next to the Noisy Goose in Palmer sold either 100 or 110, I can't remember which.

They sell 101 for around $5.40 and 118 for $10+ the stuff at the pump is regular 90 with klotz octane booster added I think he said 55gal to 1700gal but not sure. I ran the klotz all of last year and had no problems 2oz per gal makes 94-95 and keeps my sled happy!
