I've had one sitting in an online shopping cart, haven't pulled the trigger. So there's an obvious weight loss, possible reliability improvement, but do you actually feel the less rotating mass and improvement to sled performance

you get a bit out of it but not a huge notice. some of this could just be the gear ratio change too.
you don't have to change chain case oil anymore:face-icon-small-hap and you take off a few lbs.

I did

I did a tki belt drive along with the mountain cat dropped and rolled chain case to my 2016 ltd.
I love it.
Those two things together made a big difference to my sled.

Has anyone measured the actual total weight loss?

I believe this is the way to go, the belt drive alone does help but the drop and roll is a huge change.

What I noticed on my 2012 that I put a c3 drive on. Was rolling resistance, I can put my foot on a lug at the back of the sled and just push and the track just starts rolling ahead. The weight loss and this free motion are the reasons my 17 will have one this winter

Unless something has changed "AGAIN", I have the 2017 Mountain Cat kits as I expect you are referring to the dropped and rolled design?

I have 2012-14, 2015-16 (or 17 non-Mountain Cat and the 2017 Mountain Cat and the template for your conversion. Aren't all 2018's going to the Mountain Cat design?

Electric oil pump is mounted in the oil tank on the 18
havent had one out to see if you could remote mount it and just use a supply line to feed it so you could use the mtcat set up.

Yes.
As far as I know they are all mountain cat spece'd now.
I ordered a 2018 snopro.
I'll need a tki belt drive kit for a 2018 Cat.

The 2018 cat tki belt drive will use the factory oil tank because the oil pump is in the tank. Tki will supply a plate to mount the factory oil tank to and mount it in the factory location.
I got that info from tki yesterday.

good to know. the 18 tank is 3.2L so its a bit smaller than the 17 and back. I bet you can mount the 18 tank on the 17 MC? or did the MC already have the smaller tank?
