Just wondering how you route the coolant lines when doing a swap from an 05 RMK into a 2001. Would it be easier to use the old lines and reservoir or the ones from the 05? the lines from the 01 match up to the 05 motor except for the line coming out from the bottom of the thermostat. A picture would be helpful if someone had one cause i'm drawing a blank on how the 05 coolant lines ran exactly. thanks!

Here is a diagram of the 05 cooling system

if I'm looking at it properly, there seems to be a 3rd nipple on the front of the 05 cooler where the hose would fit on to, your Gen 2 cooler wont have this 3rd nipple.

I would suggest splicing a T fitting into the hose that runs to your water pump, tie the hose from the bottom of the T-stat into the T fitting, should work fine.

When I did mine, I used all the stuff off the 01. 01 Coolant bottle/ oil bottle combo. Line out of the bottle Ts to the crossover cooler an then goes forward to the water pump. Hose comes out of the head and into the brake just like the stock 01 did. That line out of the bottom of the thermostat wraps around the engine forward to the water pump. It is a bypass line. Doesn't hook to the chassis.

It is the line just above the pull starter in this drawing
